timeless crush
i could not resist joining michele ward (truly a delightful soul) and the street team for this month’s crusade no.12: what you are infatuated with, what causes crazy-but-good obsession? tell us what you have a crush on.
especially after seeing eb’s passionate crushes and my soul sister steph’s big crush which also happens to be one of mine!
i have many crushes but i definitely get the weakest knees and softest heart at the site of handbags so i decided that’s my main squeeze crush. i had a lot of fun adding another variety recently “i’m a mom now i need bigger bags to carry extra diapers and snacks” collection.
that was my last excuse.
i have no excuse for having my eye on boutique rochambeau or rodrigvitzstyle handbags other than they are unique, exquisite, handmade, and i have a crush on handbags!
as i was sorting my one million and one handbags, i realized i have a collection of another variety.
truly my timeless crush: i love indian (silk, cotton) beaded mirror bags, nepalese canvas, balinese batik, thai and tibetan embroidery, and guatemalen hand woven fabrics.
the most wonderful part: i suddenly realized people that i love and are dear to my heart (they know me so well) have fed my insatiable crush for so many years (it will not end anytime soon).
handbags: two of those were contributed by miss AmErika, my other soul sister
tall, dark, and handsome gave me these pillowcases when we were dating, on my first visit to his hometown
this was a gift from my first soul sister, super*k*west for my 30th birthday. it is so, so, beautiful, i had trouble writing in it for a long time. i kept it in a special place wishing i had the courage to right in it. i was saved by the birth of the sun. it is now the journal i keep for her
just proves to you that i am a sucker for this stuff. these are my favorite shoes that i bought for myself!

September 22nd, 2007 at 11:39 amAll of your “pretties” are rich with pattern, texture and stories. I believe this says much about the person you are. Colorful, worldly, and deep.
I so appreciate your collection of textiles.
and, well you know how I feel about your slippers!
Soon I’m going to follow your lead with a collection of my crushes. My crushes aren’t my sacred objects.
Thank you Ms. Elsa for mentioning my boutique!
