I can totally sympathise with you. The dreadful coincidence is that my darling Einar also had endocarditis which was not diagnosed until it was too late. He was told 2 days before he died that he was not to worry, that there was nothing seriously wrong ("Beunruehigen Sie sich nicht, es ist nichts Schlimmes"!!) These German words were told to him by an "eminent" German professor at the Tuebingen Eye Clinic (Augenklinik in Tuebingen). Einar and I have also been totally let down by the German medical profession. Need I say anymore, except that my heart goes out to you and Thomas in your grief. Rose (22 Feb. 2010) Elsa,
